Environmental Initiatives

Environmental Initiatives

To reduce our emissions and the waste of plastic, Wilco Works, like the broader Prime Rogue Inc family of companies, is undertaking multiple environmental initiatives in order to help our planet.

Filament Recycling

Wilco Works recycles every piece of filament used for supports or resulting from a failed print. We currently recycle and extrude our own filament using, and have plans to soon create a quarterly or monthly filament club program – more details to come.

Reusable Packaging

Whenever possible, Wilco Works prints its own shipping boxes, using reusable plastic, in order to encourage reuse. At the current time, this is an opt-in program, offered only on certain orders, where it would be rational to create a shipping box that has the potential for reuse.

In the near future, we are planning on offering a paid service where our customers will be able to order a 3D-printed reusable box of their choice, including a lining of their choice, such as felt or even Faraday Cloth, so that they can get a box that they plan to reuse.

Moreover, all of the maker kits that Wilco Works produces in collaboration with Degen Engineering are shipped in their own project cases. For example, our light-up mushroom project is shipped in the literal mushroom print, and then wrapped in recyclable paper or compostable plastic for shipping purposes.
