Perks and Freebies
Wilco the Dog, Operations Manager of Wilco Works, is a very kind soul. Via executive fiat, she has mandated that all of our friends and clients shall receive free things – because being kind is contagious.
What you’ll find in your order:
Every Wilco Works order includes one or more small or medium free prints – unless you request that we don’t include them. But there’s more: Wilco has also mandated that we create “Wilco Treat Bags” filled with samples from our catalogue and fun prints we make in the office just for kicks. Your bag could contain anything – a tiny 3D printed ghost keychain, spooky stuff at Halloween, Christmas ornaments in December, little pastel eggs at Easter, and more surprises.
Got kids?
If you have a child, just let us know during checkout and we’ll include a free mini toy bag on any order – no minimum purchase required! Tell us their favorite color and some of their interests, and we’ll print something special for them. (This adds 1 extra day to lead time, but it’s worth it to see a kid’s face light up!)
What’s in the bag?
Don’t worry – one of Wilco’s helpers will label each item with its SKU and product name (if it’s something we sell) or just the name (if it’s a fun freebie). This way you’ll know what you’re looking at – because it’s not always easy to identify our very cool micro-SD card holder or other clever designs at first glance!
About materials:
Treat bag items are likely to be made from a mix of filaments – expect PLA, PETG, and maybe some TPU, carbon fiber, ASA, or nylon. We’re also experimenting with new polyester filaments right now, so who knows – you might even get a fabric swatch! If for any reason you have an allergy or sensitivity to specific materials (we don’t know if that’s possible, but maybe?), please let us know during checkout and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Choose your vibe:
During checkout, you can select from our current treat bag themes – options might include holidays, utility items, nerd stuff, tech accessories, trades tools, completely random, and more. We’ll show you what’s currently available and ready to ship.
If your first choice needs extra print time (because we’ve run out of stock), you’ll see a second dropdown where you can either pick an alternative theme that ships immediately, or select “I can wait an extra day for my first choice” if you really want that specific theme.
About shipping:
To keep costs as low as possible (hello, free shipping on untracked items like zipper pulls!), some orders may ship in separate packages. If your freebies end up shipping separately from your main order, we’ll let you know so you’re not wondering where your treat bag went. Don’t worry – it’s coming!
Don’t want extra stuff? No problem.
We recognize that not everybody wants freebies. During checkout, you have an explicit option to opt out of our Treat Bag program (even though Wilco might be sad about it). For each opt-out, we deliver the equivalent amount of 3D printed materials to Little Free Libraries throughout Calgary – mostly cool toys and educational materials for kids.
In the future, we hope to partner with a local school to 3D print materials for their science or shop classes. This is an existing program called Wilco Works in the Community – so even if you don’t want free stuff, it will go to kids who do. 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I request specific items for my treat bag? Not for individual items, but you can choose a theme during checkout (holidays, utility, nerd stuff, tech, trades, etc.). We curate each bag based on your chosen vibe!
What if I place multiple orders in a month? Each order gets its own treat bag based on that order’s value. Order three times? Get three treat bags!
Can I buy a treat bag separately without ordering anything else? Nope! Treat bags are perks only – they’re our way of saying thanks for your order. But the kids’ mini bag works on any order, even just a $1 pencil clip.
What if I get something I already have or don’t want? All treat bag items are final sale since they’re free bonuses. But here’s an idea: pass extras along to friends, kids, coworkers, or your local Little Free Library!
Do treat bag contents change? Absolutely! Contents change with the seasons, holidays, and whatever we’re experimenting with in the shop. No two bags are exactly alike.
I ordered but forgot to opt out – can I still do that? Just shoot us a message right away and we’ll make sure your order goes freebie-free. If it’s already shipped, consider donating the extras to a kid or local library!
What happens if my kid’s custom toy bag doesn’t match their interests perfectly? We do our best with the info you give us, but we’re 3D printers, not mind readers! If your kiddo isn’t thrilled, let us know and we’ll make it right on your next order.
